Nōtan (濃淡) – The Harmony of Light and Dark

A rising star on the international scene, Rieko Tsuchida is a graduate of The Juilliard School. She is the winner of numerous awards and competitions (SONY USA Foundation Grant in 2016, Virtuosi Salon, YoungArts NFAA Finalist and 3rd Prize at the IIYM International Piano Competition). She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2011 as a soloist and as a concerto performer the same year on Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the California Symphony.

In 2020, Rieko moved to Paris, founded the IMAGO Ensemble and performed at the Salle Gaveau. In 2022 she performed in Berlin at the Piano Salon Christophori and in New York at the National Sawdust with Nia Imani Franklin as well as at the prestigious Harvard Club with the French cellist Julie Sévilla-Fraysse with whom she will also perform during this year in the United States at The Chicago Club and at the Saint Botolph Club in Boston. She regularly records and collaborates with other artists. She also has a loyal audience that follows her artistic evolution (15 000 followers on Instagram and other social networks).

Rieko is an innovative artist and works continuously to enrich the experience of her audience.

Rieko has been interested for some time in crypto technologies, particularly NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens), and how these technologies can be integrated into her performances and used to strengthen the bond with her community.

It is in this context that Rieko offers to the guests of the concert of September 8 at the Salle Cortot, an NFT, POAP (Proof of Attendance Protocol) which will allow them to access exclusive content, to continue the experience beyond the concert and to create a sustainable connection with the artist.

The theme of the concert is Nōtan (濃淡) The Harmony of Light and Dark. Rieko Tsuchida performs contemporary works by Alfonso Peduto and tackles some of the most beautiful pages of French music, intertwining the Baroque, Modern and Romantic repertoires with composers such as Rameau, Debussy and Rachmaninov.

As a concert attendee and owner of one of the POAPs of this concert, you will find below a video of a recording of the artist on a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX piano. This recording was shot on 21 / 06 / 2022 at the Kawai France showroom.

This initiative is the first step in a more advanced integration of these technologies in Rieko’s artistic work within a real journey.

On November 16, Rieko will perform a special concert in the Gustave Eiffel Room (located on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower). During this performance, NFTs “POAP” will also be distributed to the audience, giving them access to exclusive content that will strengthen their connection with the artist.

Rieko’s first album will be released in the spring of 2023 on the Bleu Danube label. Like tonight’s program, this album will offer listeners a broad spectrum of Rieko’s repertoire and a glimpse of the breadth of her talent. This recording will be specially filmed for the occasion and will offer the listener/viewer the possibility to view or listen to it, in digital or physical format. A very limited edition of luxury vinyl is planned for pre-order in early 2023. This album will be recorded at the Arsonic auditorium in Mons, Belgium on September 12, 13 and 14, 2022.

Exclusive content of this album will be exclusively accessible to the purchasers of a limited edition of NFT.
